Raised in Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, and Great Britain, Kevin’s international upbringing and extensive travel around the world have laid the foundation of his long career with a natural affinity for leadership roles, lateral thinking, and cultural connectivity.
In the arena of luxury residential real estate, it takes a vast level of experience, business acumen, and strategic thinking to successfully negotiate the deal -- and Kevin is a prime example of that level of expertise – bringing nearly 30 years of experience to the table from his vast career in residential development, investment, construction, marketing, and sales garnered from London to San Francisco.
After graduating from London's Kingston University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Regional Urban Planning, Kevin joined Jacobs Island Company, a real estate development company based in the Docklands of London. Renowned for creating the first collection of innovative, alternative, and architecturally significant loft dwellings in London – conversions of old and abandoned brick-and-timber framed industrial warehouses into luxury open-plan loft spaces – Kevin's passion for "all things real estate" ignited. At just twenty years old and hungry for knowledge and experience, Kevin spent the next five years of his young career immersed in real estate development, earning him a deep appreciation and understanding of its fundamentals: entitlements, architecture, design, engineering, construction, financing, marketing, and sales. During this journey, he not only learned the technicalities of real estate but also the power of collaboration and leadership.
Following his time at Jacobs Island Company, Kevin relocated to San Francisco where he joined Kansai Development to manage their urban renewal development program. From there, with a work visa in hand, he moved to the pioneering loft development firm of Holliday Development, overseeing the development of numerous large-scale live/work loft projects in areas ranging from San Francisco, Walnut Creek, and Emeryville to Los Angeles.
After the market crash of 2008, Kevin took a step back from real estate development to re-strategize. With a devasted economy in front of him, Kevin founded The Vibrant Group, a new real estate investment company to take advantage of the growing opportunities in the local foreclosure markets. With sufficient private equity investment capital raised, Kevin purchased over 125 single-family homes in the Bay Area for his own investment portfolios and for other national portfolios that he consulted for. Assembling a team of contractors, engineers, designers, and other real estate professionals, Kevin led an investment strategy that included renovating each home for both a buy-and-sell strategy, as well as for a buy-and-hold strategy. After flipping the majority of holdings, Kevin continues to manage his private investment portfolio of single-family home rentals: VIBRANT HOMES OF SOLANO.
In 2013 Kevin opened up his real estate expertise to the resale markets of San Francisco and the Bay Area, giving clients the opportunity to leverage his incredible knowledge of the real estate markets. As a long-time San Francisco resident – having lived in the Marina, SOMA, Noe Valley, the Castro and now Mission Bay, Kevin has a deep appreciation for the sub-markets of San Francisco and the Bay Area. After 30 years of developing real estate, he has an extensive network of contractors, engineers, designers, attorneys, and marketing experts. From negotiating with agents, to meticulously managing the transactional process, to leveraging vendor networks, Kevin has more skill-sets on hand than most clients could ever expect from their realtor.
And beyond these skill sets, it's his passion, creativity, and integrity that runs through everything that he does that makes his clients so loyal and a powerful force for referral business.
Kevin lives with his sixteen-year-old daughter, a junior at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep, and his partner John, also a career realtor and attorney. He is a member of SFAR, CAR, NAR, and the founder of Vitality, a professional business-networking group for LGBT executives, and Castro Dads, the largest social group for gay dads and their kids in San Francisco.
